While no-till vegetable production is gaining popularity on small to mid-scale farms in Vermont, long-term successful management requires distinct approaches from those used in tillage-based cropping systems. Join Patrick Sullivan of Ananda Gardens for a deep dive into how they manage their unique no-till system, including learning how they established their production systems using deep composting approaches and why this system has changed as the farm has matured. We will explore how to effectively approach nutrients and cover crop management within no-till systems, and Patrick will share how this approach to production influences Ananda Garden’s financial viability. This workshop builds off this past February’s no-till intensive at NOFA-VT’s Winter Conference and is great for both new and established producers interested in refining their no-till system management.
This workshop earns one RAP Agricultural Water Quality education credit and is supported by the Transition to Organic Partnership Program (TOPP).
Ananda Gardens is a Vermont Family Farmer of the Month and Resilience Grant awardee.
This workshop is free for farmers, thanks to generous support from TOPP.
