A Hopeful Step for Local Food Access: Budget Request Passes in Vermont House

We're thrilled to report that our proposed budget request to fund NOFA-VT's local food access programs has passed the House and now moves on to the Senate!

We'd like to express our gratitude to Speaker Krowinski and members of the Vermont House Agriculture and Appropriations Committees for approving NOFA-VT’s budget request to support Crop Cash, Crop Cash Plus, Farm Share, and other programs that increase food security and farm viability for Vermonters!

We're also deeply grateful to those of YOU who have contacted your legislators and shared your words of support for these critical programs.

We'd love for our House members to hear from our community and feel our gratitude for including important food access funding in their version of the budget.

Will you take a moment to express your gratitude to your House Representative(s)?

  1. Look up your rep(s) on the legislature's website - you have either 1 or 2 House reps
  2. Write down your rep/reps' email address(es)
  3. OPTION 1 - Consider sending a written thank you note! These mean a lot and are fun and rare for legislators to receive. Address your note as follows:

Representative <<First & Last Name>>
c/o Vermont State House
115 State St.
Montpelier, VT 05633

4. OPTION 2 - Send a quick email thanking your rep(s) for supporting NOFA-VT's budget request for Crop Cash and Farm Share in the FY25 budget.

Demand for local food access programs like Crop Cash and Farm Share has grown considerably, and NOFA-VT is working hard to ensure that these programs remain available to everyone who needs them. Thank you for being such strong partners in this effort, and stay tuned for more ways to show your support and help get this funding over the finish line!
