Volunteering With NOFA-VT

Since its inception in 1971, volunteers have been the heart of NOFA-VT! Your gift of service, whether you have a lot of time or a little, is valuable and makes a difference. We welcome short or long-term volunteers, interns, or work-study students.

There are several ways to volunteer with NOFA-VT. Here are some possibilities:

  • Sign up to help at a pizza event: stretching dough, topping pizzas, or greeting members

  • Take photos at an event or a farm

  • Help with mailings: folding appeal letters and stuffing envelopes 

  • Distribute NOFA literature in your community at food coops, libraries, etc.

  • Serve on event committees such as the winter and summer conferences or provide specific short-term help around the time of the conferences

  • Work as a focused work-study volunteer, such as PR assistance for conferences, data entry, research on a specific topic, etc.

  • Make phone calls to recruit sponsors and participants in events such as Share the Harvest

  • Provide specific skills such as legal advice, IT expertise, etc.

  • Serve on the NOFA-VT board of directors

  • Offer a workshop at your farm or garden
