Why are you seeking an apprenticeship or work opportunity on an organic farm in Vermont?
I am seeking work as an apprentice or worker on an organic farm because of my appreciation for the local food system within New England. I started my work within food systems on Cape Cod at oyster farms two summers. I have experience working as a paid crew member and a research assistant on the Farm at Saint Michael's College. I have also WWOOFed in Puerto Rico at two farms trying to recover from Hurricane Maria. Currently I work on an organic farm in Cape Cod Massachusetts. I want to open up my options and work on a variety of farms to get a more rounded experience in farming.

3 Skills
Independent- can work on farm tasks on my own and without constant direction, such as seeding, weeding, harvest, planting, transplanting, pruning and other general farm care. These skills were gained by working on various farms.
What do you hope to take away from an experience working on an organic farm?
I hope to get experience working towards a goal of production and sustainability at the same time. Learning the methods of organic farming and directly being a part of the Vermont economy and sustainable food system is something I really want to be a part of. From this experience I hope to move up the ladder whether it be starting my own farm or having a more important role managing and operating other farms.
