Join us and listen in as educators from around the Northeast share what farm to school and early childhood looks like at their site and how they’re creating change, both big and small. Whether you’re looking for inspiration, motivation to deepen farm to school efforts in your classroom, or simply to be in community with other food systems practitioners, this workshop is for you! In this webinar, 3rd and 4th grade teacher Vanessa Stern from Grafton Elementary (VT) will present lessons, themes, or units for you to consider implementing into your classroom. Q+A to follow the presentation.

Vanessa Stern has been teaching elementary school in Vermont for the past sixteen years. An avid nature lover herself, she believes passionately in the healing benefits of being outdoors and strives to get her students outside as much as possible. Having raised her own two children on a family farm with her husband David, she finds the Farm to School movement exciting, and incredibly valuable for our students' physical and emotional well-being. The two educators who have influenced her the most are David Sobel and Richard Louv. Vanessa holds an M.Ed in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Rutgers University.
