Board Member
Alexis Yamashita is a seed sovereignty advocate and Food Systems Ph.D. student at UVM. Her work strengthens community-led seed systems, enhances biodiversity, and expands local seed access, with a focus on regional adaptation of culturally meaningful seeds. A founding member of the Ujamaa Cooperative Farming Alliance, she co-managed seed rack operations at Southern Exposure Seed Exchange with mentor Ira Wallace.
