When you spend 3SquaresVT/SNAP benefits at a participating farmers market, you'll receive extra money to spend on local fruits, vegetables, herbs, and culinary seeds and plant starts.
Crop Cash: For every $1 in SNAP you spend at participating farmers markets, you’ll get $1 in Crop Cash. Up to $20 of your SNAP will be matched with Crop Cash per market day. Crop Cash can be spent on fruits, vegetables, herbs, and culinary seeds and plant starts. Crop Cash will be distributed at participating markets from May 1, 2026 through April 30, 2027. Coupons must be redeemed by April 30, 2027.
Crop Cash Plus: For every $1 in SNAP you spend at participating farmers markets, you’ll get $1 in Crop Cash Plus. Up to $10 of your SNAP will be matched with Crop Cash Plus per market day. Crop Cash Plus can be spent on any 3SquaresVT-eligible item, which expands shoppers’ options to include foods such as meat, dairy, and bread. This means that a 3SquaresVT shopper who spends $20 of their benefits at the market will receive an additional $20 in Crop Cash and $10 in Crop Cash Plus to spend on eligible items, providing a total purchasing power of $50 per market day!

EBT Cash:
Anyone who receives 3SquaresVT/SNAP benefits is automatically eligible to get Crop Cash at a farmers market—there is no additional application for this program. Just stop by the market manager's tent to swipe your EBT card. If you receive your benefits as EBT Cash or Direct Deposit, you can still receive Crop Cash & Crop Cash Plus coupons. Please see these instructions for the steps to access Crop Cash & Crop Cash Plus, which are new as of May 1, 2025. Once you have been verified at one market, your verification is good at all markets and doesn't expire unless you get a new EBT Card and need a new sticker.

3SquaresVT, also known as SNAP/EBT (formerly known as food stamps) helps limited-income individuals and families buy the food they need.
