Flower Gap Farm and Creamery is a small dairy in Charlotte, VT raising Nigerian Dwarf goats. Currently the herd is 90 strong with 26 milkers, with plans to double the milking herd next year. This female owned young farm (in its 2nd season) has lots of opportunities for growth. Currently seeking a part-time herd manager, with the opportunity to expand to full time next season. Primary responsibilities include milking (evening shift), maintaining herd health (vaccines, hoof trims, nutrition, etc), grazing management and barn cleaning. This position will oversee intern milking staff as well.
This position (in full capacity) will run until the end of the year. I would love to find someone who is able to return in late February for kidding season, or stay on in a very limited capacity through the winter months. I expect 2027 hours to be full time.
Pay range $17-19/hr. Charming, but primitive cabin available for housing, but living onsite is not required. Start date asap.
