Depending on experience, a successful candidate may be hired as a Sugarwoods Crew Member, Co-Leader, or Crew Leader. We are willing to train motivated applicants, but we are also interested in candidates with significant maple, forestry, farm, equipment, or leadership experience.

  • Forestry education, farming, landscaping, trail work, logging, or mechanical work
  • Vacuum systems, pumps, plumbing, or basic electrical/mechanical troubleshooting
  • Leading a small crew or training other workers

What We Are Looking For

The right person does not need to know everything on day one. We value reliability, good judgment, willingness to learn, and pride in physical work. Strong candidates will be:

  • Dependable and able to show up ready to work
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions
  • Able to work independently and as part of a crew
  • Safety-conscious around tools, equipment, terrain, and weather
  • Physically able to walk uneven forest terrain and perform active outdoor work
  • Interested in maple production, forests, agriculture, or hands-on mechanical work
  • Positive, practical, and willing to learn

Role Level

We will structure the position around the candidate’s experience.

Crew Member: Good fit for someone with limited maple experience but a strong work ethic, outdoor ability, and desire to learn.

Co-Leader: Good fit for someone with solid experience in maple, forestry, farming, equipment, or mechanical work who can help organize daily tasks and support other crew members.
