Position Summary

 

The Wash & Pack Crew Member is responsible for washing, sorting, grading, and packing sweet potatoes for wholesale and retail orders. This is indoor work with steady physical activity and a team-oriented environment.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

Wash, sort, and grade sweet potatoes according to farm quality standards.

Pack potatoes into cases, bags, or clamshells (including whole and diced products).

Lift and move bins, totes, and boxes of sweet potatoes (up to ~50 lbs repeatedly).

Operate wash line, conveyors, and packing equipment (training provided).

Maintain a clean, organized wash/pack area throughout the day.

Follow food safety guidelines and complete basic record-keeping as required.

Assist with general farm tasks as needed (inventory, cleanup, labeling, etc.).

Work efficiently within production deadlines.

 

 

Requirements

Ability to lift 40–50 lbs repeatedly and stand for long periods.

Comfort working in a wet, cold/warm indoor environment depending on season.

Dependability and ability to maintain a consistent schedule (10-hour shifts).

Attention to detail and willingness to follow quality and safety standards.

Team-oriented attitude and good communication skills.

Previous farm or production experience is helpful but not required.
