Join us for a hands-on Apple Tree Pruning Training at the apple orchard at Vermont State University-Randolph Campus on April 11th from 9:00 AM–1:00 PM.

Whether you’re caring for a few backyard trees or helping manage a larger orchard, this training will give you the practical skills and confidence to prune successfully. We’ll combine clear, step-by-step instruction with plenty of hands-on practice in the orchard.

Participants will learn:

  • How to safely and effectively use pruning tools, including pneumatic pruners, Sawzalls, and loppers

  • How to prune for ideal tree height, better airflow, and reduced disease risk

  • When and where to prune to support healthy growth and strong fruit production

  • Strategies for managing older or neglected trees

  • How to identify and remove dead, damaged, or diseased wood to improve overall tree health

Cost: $115
Financial assistance: VSAC/AmeriCorps grants are available. Please reach out to [email protected] for more information.

Come spend the morning outdoors, build practical skills, and leave ready to help your apple trees thrive!
