Bedded Pack Workshop at Bartlett Family Farm
Thinking about installing a bedded pack system or looking to improve one you already have? Join Orleans County Natural Resources Conservation District (OCNRCD), farmer Zack Bartlett, and USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) staff for a practical, hands-on workshop at Bartlett Family Farm in Greensboro Bend.
Participants will learn about managing a deep bedded pack, calculating annual bedding needs and costs, nutrient management considerations, and lessons learned from Zack’s experience managing a working system.
This workshop is designed for farmers who are exploring bedded pack systems as well as those preparing for a new or improved system. It also fulfills the NRCS training requirement for farmers seeking NRCS financial assistance for a bedded pack system.
