Join Jennica Stetler, of Dig Dig Farm, in an exploration of the joyful act of carving a spoon. Using only hand tools, students will learn to carve a spoon from local green wood. In addition to carving techniques, we will address wood and tool choice, sharpening, design elements and whatever else arises from inclusive and open discussion. All levels are welcome.

Jennica Stetler runs Dig Dig Farm, a small Organic vegetable farm in Hinesburg, where she grew up. She has been working on farms in Vermont for more than 20 years and has been carving spoons for 10 years. As a farmer, her spoon carving practice comes back to life every winter when the hustle and bustle of the growing season slows down and there is enough room in her greenhouse to set up a stump and make some shavings.
