Organic dairy enthusiasts in Vermont are invited to join NOFA-VT for an afternoon at the legenDAIRY Butterworks Farm! If you’re interested in learning more about organic, grassfed dairy products and how they are created–from healthy pastures to well-fed cows, milking, production and packaging, and all the way to the final products: organic grassfed yogurt, kefir, cream, and more–join us on Friday, May 22, for a visit to Butterworks!

We’ll meet the farm’s new owner and manager, Anthony Calderaro, and his staff, and they’ll walk us through the farm and creamery and help us understand why organic and grassfed are such important farm practices at Butterworks. We’ll explore how these products can and have been used in school food service.

This field trip is great for those interested in organic dairy farming and increasing access to local dairy products in area schools.

Participants are eligible for 2 hours of USDA professional development credit for topic areas 1130 and 1320.

Workshop Agenda:

12:30-1:30 pm: arrival at the farm, group lunch (bring your own lunch, snacks provided)

1:30-3:00 pm: farm & creamery tour

3:00-3:30 pm: wrap up circle & final Q&A
