“Sometimes things are a mess, and you have to get help from your friends.”

–Ira Wallace at the 2026 NOFA-VT Winter Conference

NOFA-VT is hosting a series of in-person member gatherings around the state throughout the month of April, creating opportunities to strengthen our local communities while connecting over a meal in this time of rupture.

In the spirit of the Parable of the Long-Handled Spoons, we’ll come together to explore how we can keep each other fed, safe, and cared for—especially as we envision collective actions rooted in hope, solidarity, and interdependence. Over a shared potluck meal, we’ll have space to eat together, share resources, and imagine next steps for mutual aid efforts in our communities.

Some conversations we’re excited to lay the table for:
  • What are we concerned about in our communities?
  • What can we do together to improve our community that we can’t do alone?

Bring a dish to share (and serving utensils), along with your experiences, ideas, and curiosity. Let’s sow the seeds for new efforts and grow those already underway. Together, we’re the ones we’ve been waiting for.

Join us for a gathering near you:
  • Wednesday, April 22nd, 5:30-7:30 at King Arthur Baking, Norwich
  • Tuesday, April 28th, 5:30-7:30 at  Londonderry Town Office, Twitchell Building, Londonderry

Please note: Attendance is limited to NOFA-VT members. Membership starts at just $1, and all levels support our work to connect, advocate, and strengthen Vermont’s farming and food system. Learn more or join at nofavt.org/join.
