This is our annual pre-season behind-the-scenes event where you can step into our greenhouses for an early hit of spring feelings: a rainbow of pansies and violas; the sweet fragrance of lobularia and alyssum; tiny, tender, green plants poking their heads out of the soil; the warmth of the sun captured within the greenhouse walls. It’s a magical time and we love sharing a glimpse of it with you.

We will have early season plant starts, seeds, soil, and gardening tools. The Bake Shop will be stocked with sweet and savory treats. At noon, Red Wagon’s owner Julie Rubaud is giving a free tour of our production greenhouses. This event is family friendly and includes free kid’s activities from noon to 2pm (while supplies last).

We have added a selection of workshops to this year’s Open House. They are $25 each and start at 2pm. Registration is recommended.

Planning the Veggie Garden with Julie Rubaud

Julie will share her years of experience to help you grow abundance all season long.

Garden Structures: Raised Beds, Trellises & Season Extenders with Chad Donovan

Take your garden to the next level — literally! In this hands-on workshop, we'll explore the ins and outs of raised beds, from construction tips to weed prevention and soil health. Learn how to build a cold frame (perfect for an early start on the season) and take part in bending pipes to create sturdy support structures. We’ll also craft a charming willow branch teepee to support flowering vines and assemble a mesh trellis to keep cut flowers thriving. Whether you're looking to boost your harvest, maximize space, or add a touch of personality to your garden, you'll leave with the confidence and know-how to make it happen. The level of hand-on activity will be weather permitting.

Kids Workshop: Building a Trellis with Susan Lepple

Using gathered wood we will be making a 5-6 foot trellis that can be used up against a wall or can be free standing in the garden. Students will use simple tools like hand saws and drills to help assemble their projects. Each trellis will have a similar base but students will be able to be creative with the inside design making it uniquely their own.

We look forward to seeing you!
