2025 marks Rural Vermont’s 40th anniversary and we’re planning a series of events to celebrate the people and progress that have defined the organization. Join us for our first gathering on June 1st in Franklin County! We’ll be serving up wood-fired pizza & potluck sides, block printing cards & screen printing tees, sharing stories, and treated to live music by local favorite Rusty Bucket. Our guest of honor will be the legendary Doug Flack of Flack Family Farm, a man who has been a force for good at Rural Vermont, in Franklin County, and well beyond too.

About the band: Rusty Bucket is a Bakersfield, VT-based four-piece blending bluegrass, Grateful Dead grooves, and original tunes, driven by banjo, mandolin/harmonica, guitar, and bass. With tight harmonies and spirited improvisation, their sound honors tradition while carving out a fresh, rootsy vibe.

Rural Vermont's mission is to organize, educate, and advocate in collaboration with local and global movements to strengthen the social, ecological, and economic health of the agrarian communities that connect us all.
