Join NOFA-VT and Rural Vermont for a three-part webinar series with Vermont Legal Aid, focused on healthcare and taxation for the farming community.

Submit your questions in advance when you RSVP, or bring them to each session to maximize this opportunity. Each webinar includes a presentation from Vermont Legal Aid staff, followed by an overview of ways to engage or take action around healthcare.

Please note: Open enrollment for Vermont Health Connect runs from November 1, 2025, to January 15, 2026. To have a new plan start on January 1, 2026, enroll by December 15, 2025. 

 

Webinar Session 1: Medicare Support
Friday, Nov 21 | 12:00–1:00 PM

Are you currently on Medicare or soon to be eligible? Join us to learn about 2026 changes to Medicare Advantage Plans, Medicare Savings Programs, and Medigap plans. Get information on Green Mountain Care Programs and hospital financial assistance to help lower out-of-pocket costs and ensure you can access the care you need.

Presenters from the Office of the Health Care Advocate will answer your questions and provide resources for individualized support.

 

Webinar Session 2: Vermont Health Connect Enrollment Support
Wednesday, Dec 3 | 12:00–1:00 PM

Not sure which health insurance plan is best for you and your family with the recent changes to premium assistance? Join us to learn strategies for selecting a 2026 plan, resources for lowering out-of-pocket costs, and the new income limits for the Advanced Premium Tax Credit (APTC).

Presenters from the Office of the Health Care Advocate will also cover Medicaid and Dr. Dynasaur eligibility and answer your questions to help you navigate enrollment.

 

Webinar Session 3: Tax Support
Thursday, Dec 18 | 12:00–1:00 PM

Join Zachary Lees from Vermont Legal Aid to get support with your tax-related questions. Learn how to lower taxable income to reduce tax liability, set up payment plans with the IRS, and access community resources that can help support you during tax season.
