New efforts are emerging across the country to restrict what foods people can buy with SNAP (3SquaresVT) benefits through policy change. Numerous states are moving forward with these policies, with encouragement from the federal administration. Vermont leaders are considering similar restrictions on certain foods purchased with 3SquaresVT.

Join Hunger Free Vermont and the Vermont Foodbank on April 6th from 1-2 pm on Zoom to learn:

  •  How this policy is playing out in other states, including a recent lawsuit filed by a national organization challenging the legality of this policy
  • The current status of this effort in Vermont
  • What the proposal could mean for Vermont, including harmful impacts to food access, local businesses, and communities statewide.

The meeting will end with ways to take action to support food choice in 3SquaresVT, our state's most effective and dignified nutrition program.
