NOFA-VT members, we invite you to join us on May 1st, International Workers’ Day, to stand in solidarity with local farmworkers at an all-day picket outside Hannaford in Williston. Help keep the line strong with your presence, energy, and community spirit! Your participation supports the campaign to get Hannaford to join the Milk With Dignity program, which would improve working conditions on farms in their store-brand dairy supply chain through higher pay prices from Hannaford and enforced standards.

Migrant Justice and allies will maintain a worker-led picket line at the Williston Hannaford from 7 am to 11 pm. NOFA-VT staff and members will be there for a solidarity shift from 3:00-5:00 PM, and we’d love to see you there!

In addition to the daytime picket, Migrant Justice is collaborating with a broad coalition of unions and community organizations to host an evening May Day march in Williston, passing the ICE data center and ending back at the picket line to uplift the intertwined struggles for immigrant and worker rights. Justice and wellbeing for all is a core value of NOFA-VT, and showing up for our immigrant neighbors matters more than ever.

Join us outside Hannaford at the picket, stay for the march, or both—no need to bring anything but yourself.

NOFA-VT farmers, farmworkers, and allies stand together with signs reading "Farmworkers Are Essential" and "Farmers Feed Us All", along with giant spoons in honor of the Parable of the Long-Handled Spoon, at a NOFA-VT-led Farmer Day of Action in Spring of 2025
