Carversville Farm Foundation (CFF) is a non-profit farm that combines ecological regeneration and organic agricultural production to serve our environment as well as our community. We are a diversified farm with intensive cover cropping, grazing, hay, vegetable, poultry, beef and mushroom production. We currently distribute our farm products to soup kitchens and food pantries in the greater Philadelphia area to help improve access to wholesome, locally grown foods. About the position:
The vegetable production farmer will join a dedicated team of farmers to participate in raising vegetables from seed to harvest. We have over 12 acres in production, two high tunnels for year round production and a new wash and packing facility. We use cultivating tractors, water wheel transplanters, root harvesters and other equipment that helps us remain efficient. Cover cropping, soil tests and a fertility program helps keep our soils healthy and balanced. We are striving to create the most healthful food we can donate to those in need.
Requirements
2 years vegetable production experience
Demonstrate record keeping ability
Tractor experience
Proficient at harvesting, weeding and planting
Ability to delegate responsibilities
Excellent record keeping skills
Ability to handle product from harvest to packaging while maintaining food safety (FSMA) standards
Responsibilities
Working with our team of apprentices and staff to execute daily tasks including:
Greenhouse watering and seeding, transplanting, crop maintenance
Pest and disease management
Implement and maintain irrigation
Harvest vegetables according to farm’s standards
Operate and maintain farm equipment as needed
Contribute to a safe and orderly working environment
Support record keeping

The seasonal livestock farmer will join a dedicated team of farmers to take care of all of our pasture based livestock needs. We raise beef cattle, laying hens, turkeys, broiler chickens and have several goats for hedge row maintenance. There will be daily chores of collecting eggs, moving fences according to our rotational grazing plan, feeding and watering all species while remaining observant to the animals' needs. We are looking for skilled and dedicated livestock farmers that care for the animals and health of the land. We are striving to create the most healthful food we can donate to those in need.

Cedar Circle Farm and Education Center is a certified organic vegetable and berry farm with a
farmstand and education center. We have retail greenhouses, a farm kitchen, a coffee shop, and a unique
CSA program.

vegetable and flower production farm and to educating consumers about the need to support farms who

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Greenhouse Production Lead is responsible for supporting our vegetable production team by
managing all vegetable production department indoor growing environments at Cedar Circle, including
our propagation house, high tunnels, and movable greenhouses. Your primary responsibility will be
seeding and watering, planting, pruning, harvesting, and caring for our high tunnel and greenhouse crops.
This position is also responsible for planning and managing Cedar Circle Farm’s annual vegetable and
herb plant starts and plays a role in maintaining all infrastructure related to protected culture growing. As
a member of a diversified farm team, the greenhouse production lead will also work alongside our field
team in harvest, planting, and weeding projects as needed.

COMPENSATION
This is a year-round position, full-time March through October and part-time November through
February. The Greenhouse Production Lead is an hourly position with benefits including health benefits
(50% of the group premium is employer paid), paid time off, fresh produce, and a 20% discount to our
farm stand. Pay range is $17-18/hour, depending on qualifications.

POSITION OVERVIEW

You will be responsible for planning, ordering, record keeping, and hiring and training a team to implement the department's seasonal plans. You will be excited about developing educational opportunities and finding creative ways to connect visitors to the land and food production systems. By working closely with our retail, education and marketing staff, you will ensure that our visitors are provided with top notch customer service and educated about the products and systems at CCFEC.
COMPENSATION
This is a part-time year-round position. Full-time February-October, Part-time November-January. The Annual and Perennial Manager is an hourly position with benefits including sick time accrual, health insurance contributions, fresh produce, and discount to our farm stand. Come join Rural Vermont and Mary Lake on Saturday, Dec. 17th at Argyll Farm in Bennington for an on-farm slaughter and processing workshop. In the first half of this 2-part workshop, participants will learn how to humanely slaughter a lamb and then how to efficiently butcher and process a lamb in the second half of the workshop. Participants can choose to attend one or both sections.

At this year’s conference, we welcome keynote speakers Drs. Doug Tallamy and Ann Hazelrigg who will share their expertise on insects, diseases and the amazing ecosystems of our Vermont gardens. We will also learn from one another through our shared experiences of fellow Extension Master Gardeners (EMG) and other garden enthusiasts.
