Lamb Slaughter & Processing Workshop

Come join Rural Vermont and Mary Lake on Saturday, Dec. 17th at Argyll Farm in Bennington for an on-farm slaughter and processing workshop. In the first half of this 2-part workshop, participants will learn how to humanely slaughter a lamb and then how to efficiently butcher and process a lamb in the second half of the workshop. Participants can choose to attend one or both sections.

ACORN Annual Meeting

Join us for ACORN's 2022 Annual Meeting on Tuesday, November 15th, 6:00-7:30 PM at Minifactory in Bristol, VT! This year we will we will discuss food justice with panelists from The Knoll at Middlebury College, CVOEO, Addison Allies Network, and Vermont Land Trust.

Farm to School in the Winter Months

What does farm to school look like in the winter? What can we explore in these colder months?

Join educators Courtney and Susie from Shelburne Farms to learn ways of incorporating farm to school when the gardens and bees are “sleeping”. From sugaring to sheep we’ll learn about gifts from farms beyond the garden. In this workshop we’ll share activities and resources for K-6 educators.

Celebrate the season’s favorite squash by creating delicious pumpkin treats in the Shelburne Farms kitchen. But first, go on a tractor ride to meet one of the farmers who grow our pumpkins!
