We are a small multi generational eco community located on 300 acres of mountain in Johnson Vt. We are seeking a compatible resident with similar values of eco conscious living and the security that comes from a supportive and inclusive community. The property has community kitchen, outdoor kitchen/pizza oven, large earthship greenhouse, garden space, root cellar, composting outhouses, weekly potluck/yoga/meditation classes, workshop facilities, community art studio, sauna, hot tub, swimming pond, pristine drinking water from springs, access to our trail system surrounded by acres of wilderness. Beautiful off grid cabin available with short walk to the community kitchen which has laundry facilities and internet. Tamarack Vermont Sheep Farm and Redstart seek a candidate with strong interests in farming, livestock, ecological restoration, and forestry. This position will include responsibilities at both Tamarack (assistant to the farm manager) Redstart (ecological restoration and forestry technician).
This position is ideal for someone who is excited about a wide range of agricultural and conservation work in Vermont and New Hampshire. Flexible and curiosity are important attributes, as are a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently or with a crew of like-minded individuals. Enthusiasm for restoring and caring for the land is essential. At Tamarack Farm, seasonal work includes:
Year-round work at Tamarack includes livestock feeding and handling in indoor and outdoor areas, flock health monitoring and husbandry, basic farm construction and maintenance, equipment operation and maintenance, and assessing and improving the quality of our land base (pasture and hayfields). The employee will have an excellent opportunity to learn the ins and outs of a production-scale livestock operation that is dedicated to animal welfare and caring for the working landscape. Laying hens and meat chickens are recent additons to the diversifying farm operation.

In each season, Redstart keeps the work diverse so that employees are always learning and growing their capabilities and careers; the summer and fall season will include some elements of the winter and spring work to accomplish these goals. Redstart is a unique organization that manages more forested parcels for small landowners than any other organization in Vermont or New Hampshire, and is often working to assist these landowners, nonprofit partners, and public agencies accomplish ecological restoration objectives.

About Tamarack Farm: Tamarack Farm is located in Corinth, Vermont, and we are dedicated to producing good food, conserving heritage breeds, and restoring and caring for land. We focus on two main heritage sheep breeds: the Dorset Horn and the Tunis, which have been managed from the same bloodlines withing our family for 100 years. We have participated with nonprofit partners in generic collection efforts, with genetic material from our flock stored in the Smithsonian Institute Washington DC. We rotationally graze our 130 ewes in the summer and use a combination of barns and out-wintering during the winter months. We make our own hay and use tractors and skid steers for hay making and winter feeding. After weaning, our lambs are fed a combination of grass, grain, and hay. Our primary product is meat, while hay is a secondary product. Recent diversification has added laying hens and meat chickens. We own our farm in Corinth, Vermont, and lease other fields in the area. Me (Devon) and my partner (Cat) are graduating from a masters program in sustainable food systems this May, and planning on moving to Vermont from Boulder, CO. We are looking for on-farm housing, with the ability to offer approx. 60 hrs of work/week between the two of us - I work part time remotely for a food system non-profit, and have two years of experience vegetable farming. We would appreciate any help finding housing in the Southern VT area, with the option to trade labor for rent as a plus. The Burlington Summer Farmers Market is seeking reliable and enthusiastic Market Staff Members to help create a welcoming and well-organized market experience for vendors, customers, and volunteers. This seasonal position runs from May 10th to October 25th, 2025, with markets held every Saturday.
Market Staff Members play a key role in setup, operations, customer service, and breakdown of the weekly market. This role requires dependability, flexibility, strong communication skills, and the ability to perform physical tasks. Staff members report to the Market Manager and assist with vendor support, customer inquiries, merchandise sales, and financial transactions.

Arbor Farm Market is a farmer-owned shop in lovely South Hero, VT specializing in local produce and Vermont products. We are hiring part-time retail staff to assist with day-to-day market responsibilities, including customer service and stocking. Please see below for additional details.

- Greet and help customers throughout their store visit, including completing customer transactions using a Square POS system
- Upkeep compelling product displays with close attention to maintaining a robust fresh produce and live plant inventory

- Work closely with the market manager to tangentially support administrative tasks and business development
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years of age and able to lift 40 pounds
- One year professional experience in a retail/agricultural setting preferred; willing to train the right candidate
- Familiarity (and enthusiasm!) for local food systems, especially within Vermont
- Track record of being an innovative team player with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced work environment

Lareau Farm and Forest, in Waitsfield, Vermont, is located in the Mad River Valley. The farm is home to the original American Flatbread Restaurant, a 12 room Farmhouse Inn, a Wedding Pavilion, a restored 19th c. Dairy Barn that hosts a series of summer Art Shows, a community garden, a 2 acre production garden and the Lareau Farm Stand.
We are a dynamic team of four. The 2 acre gardens are managed for nutrient-density and biodiversity using organic practices. We raise pigs and laying hens for use in the restaurant/inn.
POSITION
The work of the Garden Crew Member is both physically and mentally engaging! You get to work outside in fresh air interacting with plants, animals and people!
This position can also include working one shift in our events side of the company.
This is a full time seasonal position of 40 hours per week. The position requires some flexibility based on the needs of the garden/events.
This is a seasonal position. The season runs from May 12 – October 31st.
