Sunshine Valley Berry Farm is a familiar and cherished landmark just north of Rochester, Vermont, where Scenic Route 100 winds through open fields and mountain views that feel largely unchanged for generations. Since 2007, this 11.25-acre farm has been thoughtfully operated using only organic practices (certified organic since 1999), growing into one of the region’s most beloved small farms. The property includes 2,000+ mature blueberry bushes, 1.5 acres of raspberry bushes, and an active apiary. A well-built farm stand — equipped with freezers, display refrigeration, sink, shower, and restroom — has long welcomed locals and visitors alike.

Supporting infrastructure includes electric and internet service, a walk-in cool room, wood stove, two interconnected drilled wells, and two engineered septic systems. At the rear of the property, a gentle knoll rises above the fields — an ideal homesite overlooking the farm, the Green Mountain National Forest, and Marsh Brook below. It’s easy to imagine a home there, watching the light shift across the valley in every season. You can begin building straightaway as water, sewer, electric and telephone are all in-ground already! Rochester is one of Vermont’s quietly vibrant small towns, centered around a classic green and home to a well-loved library, gallery, bakery and coffee shop, café, grocery, hardware store, and the widely celebrated Maple Soul restaurant. Outdoor recreation is woven into daily life here. Mountain biking trails begin at the base of the property, and one of the area’s favorite swimming holes lies just across the road. Sunshine Valley Berry Farm is ready for its next chapter. Farm machinery and equipment are available separately for those who wish to continue its agricultural legacy.

Hi farm and homestead friends! My name is Robbie Nelson and I run Blue Goose Farm in Randolph Center a small organic raw milk dairy.

I currently have an exceptionally awesome and beautiful Jersey/Brown Swiss dairy cow for sale. Let me introduce you to Stormy- with her tall graceful model-esque build and striking dark color Stormy is as beautiful as she is charming. Stormy came to live with me as a young heifer from Lisa McCrory's Earthwise Farm and Forest in July 2022. She was born in 2021 and had her first calf in May 2023. She just had her third calf on January 26th of this year. On one of the coldest nights of the year Spunky was born who is a very healthy and spunky lol Jersey bull calf. He goes with Stormy and the two of them would make an ideal family milk cow/milk sharing situation for a family. I'm currently milking Stormy once a day and then Spunky is drinking the rest of the milk. With the once a day milking she produces 3 gallons of the best tasting rich creamy milk.

Stormy has a calm and gentle personality and is friendly and used to being around horses, sheep, other cows, dogs, cats and children. She does not have horns and has tested negative for Tuberculosis and Brucellosis in Dec. 2025 as well as getting her annual rabies vaccine. She is certified organic and 100% grass-fed.

If you're interested I would love for you to come out to the farm and meet her. She's really special to me so I really want her to go to an amazing home.

$4000 for both Stormy and her calf.

Feel free to reach out with any questions. Phone: (802)839-8984

Sincerely,

Robbie

Burnt Rock Farm is hiring for 2026

Burnt Rock Farm in Huntington VT is hiring for the upcoming growing season.  Positions open starting in late April-June, with guarantee work through Thanksgiving.  Winter work beyond Thanksgiving might be available as well, though TBD.

We grow ~25 acres of certified organic produce in the beautiful mountains of Huntington, VT, which is located 35 minutes from Burlington and Middlebury.  We are a very mechanized farm, and aim for high production and ergonomic efficiency.  If you are interested in farming in the sweet spot of mechanization without monotony, this might be the farm for you.

Our crop mix skews towards winter storage crops like potatoes and winter squash, carrots, beets, cabbage, and sweepotatoes, but we grow 4 greenhouses of tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, and cucumbers, as well as sweet corn, greens, brassicas, etc for summer sales.  We work hard to have a balanced workload throughout the year, as we want to respect people's lives outside of work.

We run a main-season crew of 7-9 people depending on the month, and are looking for self-motivated folks who like working in a fast paced environment that pushes a lot of food out into our local communities.  We supply many local stores, farm stands, food hubs, restaurants, our cooperative multi-farm summer CSA and winter CSA, as well as supplying some larger bulk crops through Deep Root Organic Growers Coop.

The general work schedule in the hot part of summer is 7-3:30, with work often ending closer to 3.  The schedule shifts an hour later in spring in fall.  No weekends required.  Tasks include greenhouse seeding, greenhouse tomato pruning and trellising, transplanting, hoeing, harvesting, wash/pack, and deliveries for those who like to drive.

Experience is not necessary.  For those with a few years' experience, we can tailor positions to peoples' skills and interests.  Pay commensurate with experience, starting at ~$17-18/hr plus a bonus if one completes the full season.  Higher wages available for more skilled applicants.
